What’s in Outdoors with Phil Taunton, the Council Grove Marina, the Flint Hills Chapter of Quail and Upland Wildlife Federation, the KDWPT and the Flint Hills Life Channel are teaming up in memory of Roger Parker and Ricky Smith for a Summer Long Family Fishing Fun Contest. 

The Contest is open to youth 17 and under.

 

*Eligibility: Any youth 17 & under may enter with any fish of the four species. Must be caught on or after May 1st, 2021.

Categories: Any species of catfish, and any species of bass including largemouth and  spotted bass, any species of crappie and any species of sunfish. There will also be a rough fish, turtle, crawfish and frog category.                                                                                                                                                                                  

How to Participate: Participants can come to the Council Grove Marina Store on Lake Road for a picture with their catch or email a photo of their catch to Phil Taunton at: outdoors@kvoe,com. The store is open every day except Tuesday. Entries will be acknowledged, shared on the Flint Hills Life Channel and highlighted every week on the What’s in Outdoors radio show. Be sure to include age and phone number. 

Prizes: Weekly prizes will be awarded in the five categories, starting Friday, June 4 and when the contest closes, September 4, a hundred dollar gift certificate awarded  the winners of each category!. 

Every entry will  go into the drawing for a lifetime fishing license, even  if they are not a weekly winner!
